GunWurkz is a full service gunsmith shop serving the Texas Hill Country including Boerne, Comfort, Fair Oaks Ranch, Kendall County, Comal County and San Antonio. I can perform any job from repairs and refinishing to custom weapon enhancements. The GunWurkz shop has a metal lathe, a vertical mill, drill presses, welding equipment, a sand blaster, grinders, polishers, chronograph, and other tools unique to the trade. I am here to serve you with a reputation for quality work, utilizing superior products and at a resonable price. My main concern is to give you the very best service possible and never compromise the safety of a gun.

Before anything can be done to a gun, it must be clean. A lot of times what is thought to be broken or
malfunctioning parts is simply a matter of being clean. Being clean is more than a rod down the barrel.
When I clean a gun, I disassemble it into parts that cannot be further disassembled. Each screw, pin,
spring, detent ball, e-clip, roll-pin, sight and moving part is seperated from any other part to which it may
be attached. Only when the gun is totally disassembled can it be cleaned. After the gun parts are clean,
I inspect them for wear and soundness. It is during this time that head space is checked, sear
engagement verified and the chamber polished if needed. Then the parts are lubricated with a special
rust preventative/teflon based oil which does not attract dirt or grime. When the gun is assembled again,
it is test fired and the fired round is closely inspected because a brass case can tell a story about the
firearm to a trained eye. When the firearm has passed all safety checks and operates correctly in
loading, feeding, chambering, firing, extraction and ejection, then it is ready for the customer's use.

Metal finishing services range from parkerizing to different degrees of polishing for bluing. I also blue
double barrel shotguns and use epoxy based oven dried paint to achieve a new type of finish which is
increasingly desired. Steel parts that can be hot blued are so treated as a time tested method of metal
protection. The majority of my polishing is done by hand as this is the only way to get a top quality finish.

Stock work can be a basic refinish, a hand rubbed oil finish or any suitable wood finish of your choice.
I also make repairs to stocks as well as glass bed and/or pillar bed rifles.

I do all types of action repair on rifles, pistols, revolvers, and shotguns. I can restore an old neglected
gun provided any parts if needed are available I will rebarrel your rifle or pistol in any safe caliber.

As far as custom work goes I can do just about anything you can think of. I have shortened barrels,
dovetailed sights, changed and rechambered barrels, checkered stocks, made pistol grips, and jeweled
bolts. Other things I commonly do are rebluing, Mil-spec coating, bead blast finish, polish to low luster
(Satin Type) finish, recoil pads installed, glass bedding the action, free floating barrels, pillar bed rifle
actions, re-work factory triggers (trigger job), and scope mounting. I specialize in handguns, mainly used
for personal protection and conceal carry. I do not black powder guns.
